At Buffalo Mountain Ziplines, every tour is fully guided by two trained zipline guides who accompany your group throughout the course. Before beginning your adventure, you’ll be fitted with your zipline equipment and complete a required safety and riding orientation on our demonstration line. Then you’ll head out to experience our 8-line canopy tour, progressing from shorter acclimation lines to longer and faster ziplines as you soar through the tree canopy.

Blue Ridge Adventure Tour (ages 3+)
The Blue Ridge Adventure Tour is our signature daytime 8-line canopy tour and Virginia’s longest zipline canopy course, with ziplines ranging from about 250 feet to nearly a half mile and reaching heights of up to 150 feet above the forest floor. The tour duration averages about 1½ hours, depending on group size, taking you through the tree canopy and across the varied terrain of our mountain property.
Your adventure begins with our short and gentle “Bunny Hop,” the first of three lines that allow you to get accustomed to ziplining as the lines gradually increase in length and speed. From there, the adventure continues to build as you travel between suspended and ground platforms and soar through the surrounding forest.
The highlight for many guests is “Holy Moly” — Virginia’s longest and highest single zipline. At nearly a half mile long and reaching up to 150 feet above the forest floor, Holy Moly sends you soaring through the tree canopy and down into the valley. The final three ziplines continue through the wooded valley before our 4×4 safari vehicle takes you back up to the office.

Full Moon Zip and S'mores (ages 8+)
Come experience our Blue Ridge Adventure Tour under a full moon! You’ll zip the same 8-line course — Virginia’s longest zipline canopy course, including “Holy Moly,” Virginia’s longest and highest single zipline — but after dark, it becomes an entirely different experience.
With the forest dark around you and moonlight filtering through the tree canopy, familiar sights and sounds take on a whole new feel as you soar through the course at night. When the moon is high enough in the sky, parts of “Holy Moly” and the valley below are illuminated by the full moon, adding another dimension to the experience. The Full Moon Tour duration is approximately 1½ to 2 hours.
Along the way, you may hear some of the nocturnal wildlife that calls our mountain property home — from the hoot of an owl to the sounds of animals moving through the woods. After completing the tour, you’re welcome to gather around the campfire to roast marshmallows and make s’mores before heading home.
Red-light headlamps are provided for use while riding the ziplines when needed, providing visibility while allowing your eyes to readjust to the darkness more easily than with white light.

Nighttime Tour (ages 8+, five person minimum, 5-day advance booking required)
Come experience our Blue Ridge Adventure Tour at night! You’ll zip the same 8-line course — Virginia’s longest zipline canopy course, including “Holy Moly,” Virginia’s longest and highest single zipline — but after dark, it becomes an entirely different experience.
Nighttime Tours begin around dusk, as the remaining daylight quickly gives way to darkness. With the forest dark around you, familiar sights and sounds take on a whole new feel as you soar through the tree canopy at night. Red-light headlamps are provided for use while riding the ziplines, providing visibility while allowing your eyes to readjust to the darkness more easily than with white light.
Nighttime Tours booked close to a full moon can offer much of the same moonlit experience as a Full Moon Tour, making them a great alternative when the Full Moon Tour date doesn’t work for your schedule. The Nighttime Tour duration is approximately 1½ to 2 hours and is offered June through September.

This tour requires a five-person minimum and must be booked at least five days in advance. Separate bookings may be combined to reach the minimum, but you’ll need to call or text us at 540-200-5234 to set it up. Tour availability may depend on other guests booking the same date.
Twilight Tour (ages 8+, five person minimum, 5-day advance booking required)
Come experience our Blue Ridge Adventure Tour as day turns to evening! You’ll zip the same 8-line course — Virginia’s longest zipline canopy course, including “Holy Moly,” Virginia’s longest and highest single zipline — while experiencing the changing light of twilight.
Twilight Tour start times are scheduled around sunset so you can experience the transition from daylight into lower-light twilight conditions as you progress through the course. Depending on the time of year, you may begin shortly before sunset or closer to dusk. Earlier portions of the tour may offer warm, golden-hour light, while the forest canopy gradually dims as evening settles in.
Red-light headlamps are provided for use while riding the ziplines, providing visibility while allowing your eyes to readjust to the darkness more easily than with white light. The Twilight Tour duration is approximately 1½ to 2 hours and is offered June through September.
